It's Arauco ply. a cabinet grade ply that's much stronger and lighter then mdf. Similar to birch but at a better price.

I was going to guess Chinese Poplar but I was close. Being a lumber salesman it caught my eye. I could tell it wasn't birch.. just wasn't sure what exactly it was. _________________________________________________________________ ![]() Rebuild 2012 should be done by end of summer 2012. I believe it's an A/C. The front is usually quite good, but the back varies quite a bit. Sometimes it's great and other times it's really rough. I have to pick through the stack carefully to get the good stuff.

I have to pick through the stack carefully to get the good stuff. A/C means the veneer is A grade & the core is C grade. It's great for building with.. A/B is about the PERFECT price to performance ratio in my honest opinion. I had some 1" Poplar last year that was something like 17 ply. Beautiful material. Anywho, keep up the good work man. You do a great job. I'm still drooling over the octoport. _________________________________________________________________ ![]() Rebuild 2012 should be done by end of summer 2012.
